No Sun No Worries! A shaded water feature is great for a lot of things. Less algae, cool breezes, and a perfect outdoor seating area to name a few. But it can be difficult to find the right plants for your shady space. This is a collection of some of our shade tolerant plants that would work in your shady paradise. Monkey Flower has dark green foliage and maroon stems, even when it’s not blooming it will still look beautiful! But when it does bloom man on man are those flowers wonderful! The snapdragon shaped blooms are unique and eye-catching and flowers vary from blue to lavender to violet. AND they attract pollinators!  Native Lizard’s Tail is a great marginal plant as it easily fills in cracks and crevices in your water feature. The glossy green foliage will make your pond pop! The name lizard’s tail comes from its unique white blooms that resemble the tail of a lizard. Teacup Taro is a whimsical and unique plant as well! The leaves form a cup-like shape that fills with water as it rains. Once collecting the water it pours it out like high tea! SO COOL!  Giant Papyrus has triangle shaped stems that erupt into a firework like display on top. Originally used to create paper in ancient Egypt, Giant Papyrus is still amazing to us now. Lastly is Joey Tomocik which is a shade tolerant water lily. As long as the lily has around 3 hours of sun you’ll still receive those sunshine yellow colored blooms of Joey Tomocik which is a FEAT!
