POND PLANT BIO:
Zephyranthes Reginae, also commonly called Rain Lily ‘Melted Butter’ or Rain Flower is a beautiful plant, native to Mexico that is known for its blooms. Rain Lily ‘Melted Butter’ produces small tufts of green foliage that create the perfect backdrop for the blooms! The blooms are a buttery-yellow, star shaped and are similar to crocus. The blooms start out yellow and then will fade to cream a day or two later. This plant gets its name from the fact that it will bloom two-three days after rainfall. If its not raining, you can still produce flowers by watering and fertilizing three days before you want the blooms to appear- giving you flowers on demand! The blooms last only a few days, but flowers continually develop for several days creating a flush of flowering. Rain Lily ‘Melted Butter’ was found by Thad Howard in 1954 in eastern Mexico. This plant will grow great both indoors and outdoors, so you can have it anywhere you want it! Rain Lily ‘Melted Butter’ is hardy in zones 7-10 and does best in full sun to part shade. This unique and beautiful plant will be the perfect addition to your space!
