How are my shallow water plants & water lilies shipped?

All shallow water plants & water lilies are shipped “bare root” which essentially means no soil. We grow all of our plants in Chalily Aquatic Gold soil. When you order your plant we choose the best looking one. Remove the soil from the roots. Wrap the plant in wet newsprint. Place in a plastic bag to lock in the moisture. Then your plant gets placed in its corresponding box surrounded by packing material as well as planting instructions for how to plant your new addition.

How are my floating plants shipped?

When you order your floating plants we choose the best looking ones. Place in a plastic bag to lock in moisture. Then your plants get placed in its corresponding box surrounded by packing material. Floating plants do not need to be planted so once they arrive just toss them into your dechlorinated pond.

How are my lotus tubers shipped?

Lotus tubers are not shipped during the growing season like other aquatic plants. They are shipped between March 15-May 1. Depending on the temperature in your location this may be slightly earlier, or slightly later. Before shipping the tuber is wrapped in wet newsprint, placed in a plastic bag to lock in moisture. Then they are placed in a corresponding box surrounded with packing material, as well as planting instructions for how to plant your new addition. Lotus tubers are very sensitive so when unboxing be careful not to break the growing tips.

Why are my plants yellow?

Since these are aquatic plants some yellowing or browning can occur while your plants are on their way to your house. You can remove any yellowing or browning leaves and your plant will send out new healthy growth soon after. If you are concerned about your plant’s health feel free to reach out to our customer support and they will be able to assist you.

Is there a guarantee on plants?

Because these are live plants we do not offer lifetime guarantee as proper care falls on the purchaser once the plant is out of our care. However, should your plant arrive damaged or in poor condition please reach out to our customer support team upon arrival so we can make it right!

What to do when your plants arrive?

When your plants arrive, bring them inside as soon as possible. We don’t want them to sit outside in the heat or cold for longer than they need to. Open your package and place your plants either directly in your pond or in fresh dechlorinated water until you’re ready to plant. They went on a long journey to get to your house so they need to be placed in water right after you receive them. Follow the planting instruction enclosed in your shipment for best results.

Why do I need to fertilize my plants?

Fertilizing your plants leads to more blooms, larger leaves, as well as a more attractive plant over all. Water Lilies, Lotus, and Lily Like plants all need to be fertilized on a regular basis. We recommend every 2 weeks, all of our plants here at Chalily are fertilized on the 1st and 15th of each month during the growing season. For best results use Chalily brand fertilizer to help your plants thrive.

When will I receive my plants?

We process orders every weekday Monday – Friday. All of our orders are sent via UPS ground which depending on your location is somewhere between 2-5 days. Your order should arrive between 3-7 days after your order was placed. We will send your tracking info to you, that way you have the most accurate time of arrival.

Why can’t I order some plants?

Per the Department of Agriculture some plants cannot be shipped to certain states. We have curated your available plants based on your geographical location. If you have more questions regarding state policies contact our customer support.

What is your Refund Policy?

Our plants are shipped with a 100% Quality Guarantee. Each plant is grown & shipped with care by skilled aquatic plant experts. Some yellowing or browning may occur while in transit. Feel free to remove any discolored leaves, they will soon be replaced with new, healthy growth.

If you are not satisfied with the condition of your plant, or it is damaged during shipping, please reach out to our customer support team for assistance! To receive a refund or replacement email lily@chalily.com. You will be given a  pre-paid shipping label to return your items. You must contact us within  14 days of your plants arrival. Please allow 1-3 Business Days for returns to be processed.
